Although I was trained as a German and English teacher (MA in German and English from Eberhardt Karls Universitaet, Tuebingen, Germany), I always enjoyed working with my hands much more than teaching languages.  I have enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, and gardening throughout my life.  Not long after coming to the US with my wife and our first child, we were asked by a friend who was studying massage to practice her strokes on us.  I knew immediately I had found my calling.  I received my M.Th. degree in 1983 after 500 hours of training from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York City, founded in 1916 and the oldest massage school in the U.S.  I practiced in Katonah, NY and taught Continuing Education classes at BOCES in Westchester County for several years.  In 1989 I moved to Ithaca, NY and have been practicing here ever since.  I work two mornings a week at area nursing homes.  In my office I treat children, adolescents, and adults of all ages with a wide variety of health conditions.  My clients are both men and women.  I also treat clients nearing the end of their lives and have volunteered my services for Hospicare.  I am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, licensed by the State of New York and taught TST-BOCES Continuing Education classes in Massage Therapy for ten years.  I speak English, German, and Hungarian.
